Jewellery Care

I make high quality hand made jewellery thats intended to last pretty much forever and even passed down generations! To preserve it and keep it as bright and shiny as possible, here are a few ways to look after your Ella Stern pieces.

- Make sure to keep it out of sunlight.
- Keep it stored in individual packaging to avoid tarnishing and tangled chains. The best way to stop your jewellery tarnishing is to wear it!
- Life is tiring, but try not to fall asleep in it. Particularly necklaces.

Gold vermeil jewellery:

Gold vermeil is a thicker gold plating, which is what I use on all gold (not solid gold) pieces. To preserve the gold coating for as long as possible, I would recommend taking it off when washing your hands, bathing, applying moisturiser / hand cream, hand wash and definitely do not let it anywhere near hand sanitiser! Allow your perfume to dry before putting your gold plated items on and keep it away from chemicals in general.

Try and avoid any friction. I recommend removing before exercising.

Jewellery with gemstones:

Be carful with jewellery that has gemstones set. Try not to knock it and remove it if doing any heavy duty work.

Cleaning jewellery at home:

To clean your jewellery at home I recommend using a toothbrush and warm soapy water. Dry it with a soft cloth.

A lot of my pieces are weighty and feel solid which they are. But remember it is still a precious item. In order to preserve it forever, make sure to take good care of it :)

If you would like your pieces spruced up a bit - either re-plated or polished up, I run a rejuvenation service for £45.
